Premier’s ANZAC Student Tour commemorate ANZAC Day in Hanoi 2019 :
Nathan Moore commemorated ANZAC Day in Hanoi this morning. After the service Nathan spoke to ABC Perth radio.
Excerpts from his speech
“ On the educational and commemorative side of things, I have literally been overloaded with the amount of knowledge I’ve learnt and all the different perspectives I have been subjected to. Spending time with veteran Brian Cleaver who accompanied us on the first couple of days was amazing and his story is extremely sad and incredible. Stories like his need to be more well known which is why I went on the tour to make them more well known to other youth of Australia including all the kids back in Kununurra. Visiting the actual sites of battles was also really interesting for me as I am now able to visualise the places where the Australian ANZAC stories happened. Going to the orphanage was very fun and also sad to see them all but we had a good time there. I am so enthusiastic to share with everyone the experiences I’ve
had and the history that I have learnt.”
