2022 Premier’s ANZAC Student Tour Finalists

We have 4 GT Online student finalists for the 2023 Premier’s ANZAC Student Tour 2023!

Four GT Online students attended an interview for selection for the 2023 Premier’s Anzac Student Tour in Perth during the recent school holidays. Year 10 students Alex Wenzel (Albany SHS), Zoe Stockdale (Kalgoorlie-Boulder Community College)  and Harry Forman (Katanning SHS) as well as year 9 student Kesia Kelleher-Bird (Albany SHS) were selected among the 18 finalists after judging of their essays at the first stage of the competition. The students were asked to write an response to the topic.

In what way might efforts on the home front be seen as important as battles fought overseas? Draw on a selected Western Australian individual, community or group to illustrate your response.

The students wrote on a variety of topics including the Women’s Land Army, the Volunteer Defence Corps and Coastwatchers and the Prime Ministership of John Curtin.

The announcement of the ten students selected to tour Sydney and Auckland with the tour next April will be made on the 11th November.
